I would like to know if you are diagnosed with Huntington's Disease is there a chance that you will never get any symptom's?

The onset of symptoms is dependent on your CAG repeat as Huntington’s disease is caused by a fault on one of these genes – the huntingtin gene which is on chromosome 4, a chromosome we all possess. This fault changes the way the body functions and for people with Huntington’s disease results in brain cell death. A healthy gene will contain 35 or less CAG repeats.  Between 36-39 CAG repeats is considered a “grey area” as some people will develop symptoms of HD, others will not develop symptoms, and children of these people still have 50% risk of inheriting the disease. Repeats of 40 and above will unfortunately develop symptoms of HD at some point.

Hi everyone. My husband is thinking of getting tested for huntingtons. We live in Geelong are there any places near us?
