Hello,

My wife was diagnosed last year and I was wondering if there any carer support groups? It is difficult to know what support to give while she is non symptomatic. She is incredibly resilient but we are fighting a lot about seemingly insignificant things and I can't help but think the underlying cuase is the diagnosis and us not knowing what to do

Hi Beo, Welcome to the forum.

Although there is no specific carer's support group, Huntington's Victoria has lots of information and resources avaliable on their website. Also, this forum is for anybody in the hd community to ask questions, express concerns and sharing stories. I would definately recommend that you check the Power of Sharing Your Stories which you can access on this page by clicking on the blue lines on the top right hand side. I would also recommend that you read the Information and Awareness Newsletter for December which can be accessed via the Huntingtons Victoria website under Latest News especially Melissa's story. Please remember that you are not alone and that there are no dumb questions.

I look forward in getting to know you more.

Take Care

Sue

HCC is not a crisis service so if you require immediate support and/or feel in danger or unsafe, we recommend that you please contact 000 or one of the following crisis support services.
